Who we are
This policy explains how Kaziplat handles your personal information when you use our website and apps. We follow the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of Tanzania. If you have a question about your information, write to support@kaziplat.work.
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password.
- Your CVs and profile: work history, education, skills, photo and anything else you choose to add.
- Documents you add: certificates, attachments and your signature.
- Your job search: saved searches, saved jobs, the applications you track, your targets and your preferences.
- Comments, votes and reports you make on jobs.
- Messages you send to our support.
- Employers: your company profile and the job listings you post.
- Payments: the phone number used, the amount and the status of the payment.
Information we receive in other ways
- When you use Kaziplat: your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you open.
- When you allow notifications: a notification token for that device.
- When you sign in with Google: your name and email address from Google.
- When you pay: confirmation of the payment from our payment provider.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and run your account;
- show you jobs and how well they fit your CV;
- build your CVs, letters and application files;
- send the job alerts, emails and notifications you choose, and messages about your account;
- provide your plan and process your payments;
- answer you when you contact us;
- keep Kaziplat safe, and prevent fraud and misuse;
- improve Kaziplat;
- meet our legal duties.
We do this to provide the service you asked for, with your consent where it is needed, to protect our users and our service, and where the law requires it.
When you apply for a job
You decide when to apply. Your application is sent by you, from your own email or on the employer's website, and we do not send your CV to employers for you. Once an employer has your application, the employer is responsible for how it uses your information.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with companies that help us run Kaziplat, such as hosting, email, notification, sign-in and payment providers, and only as far as they need it to do that work;
- when the law, a court or a public authority requires it;
- when it is needed to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or Kaziplat;
- if Kaziplat or part of it is reorganised or sold, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.
Comments you post on a job can be seen by other people using Kaziplat.
Cookies and your device
We use a cookie to keep you signed in. We also store some information on your device so that Kaziplat remembers your settings and works smoothly. We do not use advertising cookies. If you block cookies or clear this information, you may have to sign in again and some features may not work.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. You can close your account at any time and restore it within 30 days. After that we delete your information or remove anything that identifies you, except what we must keep by law or need to settle a dispute, such as payment records.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.
You can do most of this yourself in your account: edit your details, change your notifications, download your data, or close your account. For anything else, write to support@kaziplat.work.
Security
We protect your information with technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections and limits on who can reach it. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
Transfers outside Tanzania
Our servers and some of the companies that help us may be outside Tanzania. When your information is sent abroad, we take steps to see that it stays protected as the law requires.
Children
Kaziplat is for people aged 18 and over. If you believe someone younger has made an account or given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version will appear on this page with its date, and we will tell you in the app or by email about important changes.
