Communications Officer Intern at OpenMap Development Tanzania Position: Communications Officer Intern Company: OpenMap Development Tanzania (OMDTZ) Employment Type: Internship Location: Tanzania About OMDTZ OpenMap Development Tanzania (OMDTZ) works in open mapping, geospatial technology, innovation, and community development. We are seeking a creative and motivated Communications Officer Intern to support our digital communications, content creation, and organizational visibility. Key Responsibilities • Manage OMDTZ’s social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X. • Create and publish engaging content, including articles, photographs, videos, graphics, brochures, and project stories. • Update and maintain the OMDTZ website • Support event and project coverage through photography, videography, interviews, and social media updates. • Assist with media relations, outreach, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement. • Contribute to the update of OMDTZ’s brand guidelines and Communications Strategy. • Explore innovative communication approaches, including podcasts, short videos, and digital storytelling. • Perform other communications-related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills • A degree or ongoing studies in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English and Kiswahili • Basic skills in photography, videography, graphic design, and video editing. • Familiarity with social media and website content management. • Knowledge of Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or WordPress is an advantage. • Creativity, teamwork, willingness to learn, and good organizational skills.
