Documents to have ready before you apply
The certificates and papers employers often ask for, and how to keep them ready to send.
Why prepare early
Good jobs often close within a week or two. If your documents are already scanned and named, you can apply the day you see an advert instead of searching for papers.
What employers often ask for
Every advert is different, so always check it. These are the documents asked for most often: - Your CV and an application letter. - Academic certificates and transcripts, from your highest level down. - Secondary school certificates, such as Form Four and Form Six. - Professional certificates and short courses relevant to the job. - Your birth certificate. - A national ID or another identity document. - For some jobs: a professional registration, a driving licence or a police clearance.
Keep them ready
- Scan each document clearly and save it as a PDF.
- Name files so you know what they are, such as "Diploma-Certificate.pdf".
- Keep them in one folder on your phone and a copy online, so you don't lose them.
- Keep originals safe: employers usually ask to see them at interview, not to keep them.
- On Kaziplat, you can add certificates to your CV so they're attached in order when you download it.
